Westmorland Park work party, May 3

On Tuesday, May 3, our first Tuesday work party of 2011, we will have the privilege of working with Si Widstrand, retired City Parks Development Manager, a highly respected champion of our City Parks and the recipient of this year's Individual Volunteer of the Year.

We will be pruning and thinning a wide variety of trees and shrubs in the Rock Garden area.  Si will be leading us with a chainsaw and there will be a lot of debris to carry/drag to the curb. In addition, others will be using saws and pruners.  If you haven't worked with Si before, you'll find this an exciting experience. He is fast-paced and knowledgeable.

Last fall, we had a very productive and FUN work day with him at Westmorland Park.

Meet at the Rock Garden on Gately Terrace from 6pm-8pm, or when you can make it.

If you have them, you might bring: pruning saws, pruners, or a rake.
